Island Wave is an album that reflects DubMarta’s musical journey up until now. The ‘island’ is the recurring theme which gave the name to the album. Island intended both as a geographical place and, in a more imaginative way, as an intimate space to create and reflect. All the songs were written on an island or inspired by an experience lived on an island, starting from the UK where DubMarta is mainly based, passing through the Mediterranean and Napoli, where she’s from, until South East Asia where she spent some time in Thailand on a small island, writing music and performing.

The album, recorded in London, Birmingham and Naples, features Paolo Baldini DubFiles, Dougie Conscious (Conscious Sounds), Pier Paolo Polcari (Almamegretta), Nick Manasseh and a number of talented musicians who collaborate with DubMarta both live and in the studio.
